to provide great views of Leech Lake, Minnesota’s
third largest body of inland water, and the night sky

#2
Owner: Colonna Family
Sitting high atop Lion Mountain, this log home looks
into Glacier National Park and down onto Whitefish
Lake, Montana. Attention to detail, a Northwoods Log
Homes trademark, sets this house apart from the rest.
This home was erected by skilled local contractors
working eleven hundred miles away from the manufacturer.
It is a testament to both the product and to the process
that produced it. |

Owner: Downs Family
Dark-stained, full round 7 ½-inch logs give
this log home a traditional look and feel. The house
and lot are both nicely accented with fieldstone, allowing
the home to blend into its surroundings. A walkout
basement nearly doubles the livable square footage
that overlooks the lake. Design incorporates many customer
generated ideas that makes the home fit their needs
perfectly. This home was featured in Log Homes Illustrated. |

HOUSE
#4
Owner: Harris Family
Built as a retirement home in waiting, this trim house
sits in a 6,400 acre wooded development in Galena,
Illinois. The home was assembled primarily by the owners,
who served as the project’s general contractor.
They started with a stock Northwoods Log Homes plan
which they modified by lengthening the home and adding
a 20’ dormer to the second story. The home features
heart-pine flooring salvaged from old mill buildings
on the East Coast. |

ponds and marshlands in southern Minnesota, this home
features local fieldstones on the foundation and inside
on a fireplace which is open on two sides to serve
two rooms. An inviting open porch and a cozy four-season

as one season flows into the next. The custom floor
plan provides for open spaces and display areas. |

This cottage style home was featured in Country’s
Best Log Homes Magazine. Its graceful lines and steep
peaks on the roof incorporate a blend of wood and rock
that creates a warm, unique home. Inspired from a house
in a 1984 log home magazine, the home reflects the
careful attention of architectural design and home
owner ideas, including a 16’ vaulted ceiling
in the second story master bedroom. |

Inspired by a good bottle of wine, this year 'round
lake home emerged from a napkin sketch to become a
striking, three-level home with six bedrooms, five

a fire pit that sizzles with Southwestern flair and
you have a home that says welcome friends, come on
in. |
